SVQ Level 2 is designed for practitioners whose day-to-day role provides regular opportunities to demonstrate competent care and support through real workplace practice.

Level 2 may be appropriate if you…
• deliver direct care and support
• follow agreed plans and procedures
• make day-to-day decisions within your role
• record & report support need and preferences
• work safely and consistently as part of a team
Level 2 may not be the most appropriate if you…
• have greater responsibility for care & support decisions
• coordinate or review aspects of care and support
• undertake significant key-working responsibilities
• support or influence the practice of others
• exercise greater autonomy within your role
What kind of practice will I need to demonstrate?
A Level 2 candidate requires regular opportunities to demonstrate practice such as:
• providing safe, person-centred care and support;
• promoting dignity, choice, rights and participation;
• communicating effectively with individuals, colleagues and others;
• following agreed support plans and workplace procedures;
• recognising and responding appropriately to changes or concerns;
• maintaining accurate and appropriate records;
