SVQ Suitability Assessment
Get an initial indication of whether SVQ Level 2 or Level 3 may be the better fit for your current role, responsibilities and workplace experience.
Starting With You
Your SVQ journey begins with a short SVQ Suitability Assessment. It explores the areas most relevant to identifying an appropriate starting point, including your:

Role

Responsibilities

Experience

Goals
What Does the SVQ Suitability Assessment Do?
The philosVQ SVQ Suitability Assessment provides an initial indication of whether SVQ Level 2 or SVQ Level 3 Social Services & Healthcare may be the better fit for your current practice.
It considers more than your job title. Your responses explore your:
current role and responsibilities
previous workplace experience
level of responsibility and professional judgement
frequency of relevant workplace activities
opportunities to demonstrate competence through your normal work.
The result is intended to help you understand which qualification may be the most appropriate starting point.
What It Does Not Do
The Suitability Assessment does not automatically determine which SVQ you should undertake.
Job title, length of service or aspiration alone cannot confirm the appropriate level.
Two people with the same job title may have very different responsibilities and evidence opportunities. What matters is the work you actually undertake, the decisions you are expected to make and how regularly your role gives you opportunities to demonstrate the required level of competence.
Your suitability result is therefore one indicator among several.
Before enrolment, philosVQ will consider your role and readiness more fully. A consultation can also help explore your result and clarify whether Level 2 or Level 3 best reflects your current practice.
The aim is not to place you at the highest level possible — it is to identify the qualification that best reflects the competence you are currently able to demonstrate.
How is the Final Level Confirmed?
Your suitability result provides a useful starting point. Before enrolment philosVQ considers your role, responsibilities, experience and workplace opportunities more fully through discussion and the Role & Readiness process.
